Safeguarding

Parents and carers are the most important partners we work with to support and develop our students. The care and protection you give to children is so important in keeping them safe, and helping to ensure they are best placed to learn, grow and succeed.

We appreciate that the environments in which our children grow up, and the pressures they face, are constantly changing and evolving, so it can be a challenge to know how best to keep them safe. This section of the website is designed to give you some helpful information and resources to support the care you provide, and make you aware of some of the current risks and issues facing children and young people.

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)

Parents Against Child Sexual Exploitation (PACE) - Child Sexual Exploitation is a process by which under 18s are befriended by a peer or adult, they are made to feel special through gifts, attention or status, and then they are pressured to get involved in sexual activity. This is a form of abuse and can have devastating effects on young people and their families. Parents and carers need to be aware of this risk and speak to their children about healthy relationships and staying safe.

Barnardos - Barnardos have created an information video and booklet for parents about spotting the signs of CSE.
